The Eastern Illinois Panthers will head north and take on the Iowa Hawkeyes in non-conference action this Wednesday from the Carver-Hawkeye Arena on B1G+.
Eastern Illinois moved to 3-9 after beating IUPUI in Indianapolis. The Panthers trailed this battle of big cats at the break, but a big second half would land them their first D1 win of the season, tackling the Jaguars by 11 points. EIU is scoring 66.9 points per game, while allowing 67.8 ppg, and shooting 41.8% from the floor.
Leading scorer Kinyon Hodges missed the IUPUI win, and it led to Yaakema Rose Jr. having a big game. The 5’9 guard poured in 27 points to lead EIU to their first road win of the season. Caleb Donaldson has been consistent early on, scoring 12 points or more in four of the last six games.
