Connor McDavid Off to Historic Start for Oilers

Connor McDavid was already arguably the best player in the NHL coming into this season, but he's still managed to find a way to take his game to another level.

McDavid is off to a historic start for the Edmonton Oilers, doing something that hasn't been done in 30 years.

Connor McDavid MVP Odds

The star center is the first player since 1992-1993 to rack up 11 goals and 11 assists through his team's first 10 games of the season. The last players to do so were Mario Lemieux and Kevin Stevens, both of whom accomplished this feat for the Pittsburgh Penguins.

McDavid's 11 goals lead the NHL, while his 11 assists rank third. His 22 points are also tops as he looks to lead the league in that category for the third straight year and the fifth time in his career. He has never paced the NHL in goals before, so that would be a first for him if he keeps it up.

Not surprisingly, the 25-year-old Oilers captain is the early favorite to win the Hart Memorial Trophy — the NHL's version of the MVP award. He currently has +175 odds to take home his third career Hart award on FanDuel Sportsbook's NHL odds.
