Florida Panthers vs. San Jose Sharks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-3-2022

Florida Panthers (5-4-1) vs. San Jose Sharks (3-8-1)

The Florida Panthers continue their road trip on the west coast Thursday, November 3, 2022, when they face off against the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center at San Jose with the puck drop at 10:30 PM ET.

The Panthers head to California as firm -215 moneyline favorites with a total of 6.5 goals. They are undefeated in six straight meetings with the Sharks and five consecutive trips to SAP Center at San Jose.

The Florida Panthers are looking to bounce back from a 3-1 defeat at the lowly Arizona Coyotes. Last Tuesday, the Panthers visited the Yotes as massive -300 favorites and took a lead midway through the second period. However, they went 0-for-3 with the man advantage and scored only one goal on 42 shots while allowing the Coyotes to convert a couple of their four power-play opportunities.

“The third period is where we lost the game,” Florida coach Paul Maurice said. “We had done what we needed to do and didn’t accept through 40 minutes that it was still a tight game, and the first 10 minutes (of the third period) we did a lot of things we hadn’t done this year, uncharacteristic play.”

Spencer Knight allowed two goals on 20 shots against Arizona, recording his first loss of the season. Sergei Bobrovsky is expected to get back between the pipes Thursday in San Jose, and the 34-year-old netminder is 2-3-1 with a 3.06 GAA and .897 save percentage in 2022-23.

The Panthers are scoring 3.00 goals per game (tied-19th in the NHL), but they are only 4-for-44 with the man advantage. Florida desperately needs more from its special teams, as the Panthers have surrendered 11 power-play goals on 39 attempts.
