The Charleston Cougars are on the road as they make the trip to take on the Elon Phoenix Thursday night. Charleston trounced Northeastern 99-63 Monday night at home, easily covering the 15.5-point line in the process, in their previous game. Elon defeated Hampton 70-68 at home in their previous game Monday night though they failed to cover the line as a 6.5-point favorite. In the all-time series between the teams, Charleston owns a 25-9 advantage and has won the last three meetings. That includes a 78-60 home win in the first matchup this season on January 14.

Charleston blew out Northeastern at home Monday night for their fourth straight triumph. The Cougars improved to 25-3 overall and stand tied for first in the CAA with Hofstra as both teams are 13-2 in the conference. Against Northeastern, Charleston led by one four minutes into the game before ripping off a 34-10 run to go up 43-18 with 8:01 to play in the first half. The Cougars led by 17 at the half and never let the Huskies closer than 13 in the second half while building the lead to as many as 38. Charleston shot a blistering 59.4% from the floor, including 12 of 24 from three-point range, and held Northeastern to 36.9% shooting in the game. Ante Brzovic led the Cougars with 23 points and five rebounds in the win.

The Cougars are putting up an average of 81.1 points per game, which is 20th in the country in scoring offense, on the season. Charleston hauls down 40.3 rebounds per contes t (5th) and dishes out 13.9 assists per game. The Cougars have been average on the defensive end of the floor, ranking 143rd by allowing 68.4 points per game this year. Reyne Smith is fourth on the team with 10.5 points per contest this season. Dalton Bolon is leading the team in scoring as he puts up 12.9 points a game. Pat Robinson III (11.3 points), Jaylon Scott, Ben Burnham, Babacar Faye, Ante Brzovic (11.3 points, 5.5 rebounds), Raekwon Horton, Ryan Larson (10.3 points, 4.2 assists) and Charles Lampten are solid contributors for the Cougars. Charleston is hitting 44.3% from the floor this season as a team. The Cougars splash an average of 10.1 three-pointers a night while hitting 33.8% of their attempts from beyond the arc. Charleston has been good at the charity stripe, sinking 73.9% of their chances at the line this season, which is 95th in the nation.
