The Western Michigan Broncos (0-2, 0-2 ATS, 1-1 O/U) clash with the Northwestern Wildcats (2-0, 0-2 ATS, 1-1 O/U) in an inter-conference bout on Tuesday night. The Broncos dropped a home decision to Georgia State on Saturday. The Wildcats earned a solid home win against Dayton in their previous bout.

The Western Michigan Broncos are searching for their first victory of the season. Western Michigan is on the road after two home bouts. They were a small 3.5-point dog in a narrow 80-76 overtime loss to North Dakota State in game one and struggled defensively in a 77-70 home defeat against Georgia State on Saturday. They were 5.5-point dogs in that one. WMU lost its three leading scorers from last season.

B. Artis White is capable of big numbers. The junior guard averaged 14 points in 2021-2022 but only averaged single digits last year. White collected 20 points in the season opener and did not play on Saturday. Seth Hubbard is a key returning player. The sophomore guard recorded 7.5 PPG last season and has scored 27 points on 32% shooting in two bouts. Anthony Crump spent the last three seasons with Northern Illinois of the MAC. He averaged 7.7 PPG last season and has scored 11 points in two bouts .

The Broncos are pegged 323rd in the country in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and were projected to place 10th in the MAC preseason poll. Western Michigan only averaged 69.9 points per game last year, marking them 213th. The defense was a big weakness, conceding an average of 74 points, pegging them 293rd.  They are shooting 42.4% after two games while holding their two opponents to 41.5% shooting.
