C-USA meets the American on Tuesday, with the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (1-1; 0-1-0 ATS) taking on the Murray State Racers (2-0; 0-1-0 ATS). The opening tip is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. EDT. These schools haven't met on the court since 2014, when Murray State took home a 12-point win. Hosting in CFSB Center this week, will history repeat itself. Let's take a look at what these teams have in store.

The Hilltoppers got their first loss of the year out of the way in game two. They shot 29.6% and didn't hit a single three in the 10-point loss. Don McHenry led the way with 12 points but was 4-19 from the field. Rodney Howard was the only other double-digit scorer for WKU with a 5-16 mark from the field. Pace has this team averaging 75.5 points per game, but shooting 40.6% won't get them very far. Their 14.6% clip on threes and 71.7% rate at the charity stripe should improve too. Thursday's loss was ugly, but it can't get worse than that shooting-wise, in theory.

On defense, WKU has been solid, allowing 135 points in their first two ba ttles. Their opponents have only hit 26.2% of their threes and 63.4% of their free throws. The Hilltoppers won the rebounding battle in both of their games and are +18 in turnovers. They also have eight blocks. Even as a high-tempo school, defense is how Western Kentucky will succeed. Let's see if it can get them back in the win column on Tuesday.
