It's a battle of Rams when Rhode Island (8-16) hosts VCU (18-7) in the Atlantic-10 competition. This will be the first head-to-head meeting this season. VCU beat Rhode Island 73-64 as a 6.5-point favorite last year.
VCU is currently sitting at the top of the Atlantic-10 standings with a 9-3 record in conference play. The Rams are actually coming off a home loss 62-58 to Dayton last Tuesday. Still, as the A-10 leader, ESPN's Joe Lunardi has VCU slated as a No. 13 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The Rams are 84th in the nation according to KenPom. Their defense is 28th in adjusted efficiency, and the offense is just 183rd. Adrian Baldwin Jr has been the teams leading scorer and explosive at times. Baldwin Jr averages 13.5 ppg. He dropped 14 against Dayton last Tuesday and 37 in a 73-65 win over Saint Louis on Feb. 3.
VCU is 10-13-2 against the spread this season. The teams over/under record is 10-15.
