U.S. Underdog In Solheim Cup, Slight Favorite In Ryder Cup

The Ryder Cup begins next week in Rome, but before some of the best men's golfers in the world gather for the Europe-vs.-U.S. team competition, some of the best women's golfers in the world will do the same this week in Spain.

The Solheim Cup begins Friday, and legal sports betting odds suggest this year's event could be one of the most competitive yet. Europe has won each of the last two Solheim Cups, which are three-day events that feature 28 matches.

Each match is worth one point, with each team earning a half-point for tied matches. If a team reaches 14.5 points, it wins the Solheim Cup. If the teams finish tied at 14, Europe retains the cup because it won the most recent Solheim Cup.

FanDuel lists Europe at -125 to win the event. A tie would be a longshot outcome, and FanDuel lists it at +1100 odds.'
