A pair of struggling Eastern Conference clubs will have a shot at redemption on Wednesday night. The Toronto Raptors (17-33; 24-26-0 ATS) and Charlotte Hornets (10-39; 17-32-0 ATS) both desperately need a win right now. Their opportunity will arise at 7:00 p.m. EDT in Spectrum Center. The home team won and covered the spread in both of December's meetings. Who will take round three?

When it comes to basketball picks, our NBA Predictions are stellar.

After Monday's 38-point loss, Toronto is 2-12 in their past 14 games. That includes a 1-8 record on the road. RJ Barrett (questionable) was out on Monday, which didn't help at all. The Raptors quickly need to get back on track, and it should start with an offensive rating that's ranked 18th in the league. Toronto's strength is the 12th-highest shooting percentage at the rim. That's where 36.1% of their shots come from, and it masks a 35.8% (21st) clip on threes. The Raptors are 29th in free throw percentage. This team is middle of the pack in ball security and offensive rebounding. After Monday's dud, can they respond against a team that they've succeeded against?

On the other end, Toronto is 21st in defensive rating. They've allowed at least 135 points in three straight contests before facing the Hornets. They're ranked 22nd in rim defense and forcing three-point misses. The Raptor s are 23rd in defensive rebounding percentage and 20th in turnover percentage. Outside of holding foes to the third-fewest free throw attempts per game, the Raptors have a lot of room to grow defensively. It doesn't help that they traded away OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam already.
