The Texas State Bobcats will visit Monroe, LA this week for a match up with the UL Monroe Warhawks. Texas State comes into this game two games below .500 on the year riding a 2 game skid following a six point loss to Southern Miss. Defensively Texas State struggled as Southern Miss accumulated more than 300 yards of offense to score 20 points in the game. Offensively Texas State had issues with only 243 total yards including -6 on the ground, while turning the ball over one time leading to the loss.
Layne Hatcher struggled under center for Texas State completing 26 of 42 passes for 249 yards and two scores but ran the ball eight times for -12 yards as well. Ahstyn Hawkins was the biggest spark in the Texas State offense with 102 yards and one touchdown on five catches and Marcell Barbee added 71 yards on three grabs as well.
The UL Monroe Warhawks go back home this week four games below .500 on the year riding a four-game losing streak after a 24 point blowout loss to Army. Defensively the Warhawks were obliterated as Army accumulated nearly 500 yards of offense including 441 on the ground to score 48 points in the game following a 34 point second half.
