Two Texas schools are meeting on the court this Tuesday. The Texas A&M Aggies (2-0; 2-0-0 ATS) and SMU Mustangs (3-0; 1-1-0 ATS) are colliding for a second straight year. This time, the game is in Dallas, specifically Moody Coliseum. When this game tips off at 8:00 p.m. EDT, it'll officially signal the end of one team's undefeated dreams. The question is, who will it be?

Texas A&M had a road test in Columbus on Friday night. They left Ohio State's campus with a seven-point win. Once again, it was their defense, which is ranked 19th in KenPom's adjusted ratings, that led the way. They held Ohio State to 66 points and 21.1% shooting on threes. The Aggies were also +10 on the boards and +2 in turnover margin. Playing at one of the nation's slowest paces helps them limit scoring too. Allowing only 122 points in their first two games, it appears the Aggies will have a nationally feared defense again. After all, their opponents are only shooting 36.2% from the floor so far.

The offense is hitting a higher rate of their shots this year (44.7%) than they did last season (43.2%). Two games aren't substantial, but the Ohio State game showed promise that they can come close to maintaining their 75.5 points per game average in 2023. Only turning the ball over six times helped a lot on Friday. However, shooting only 16.7% from deep against the Buckeyes isn't a performance that the Aggies can afford to repeat often. Especially not later in the season. Wade Taylor IV (leading the team in scoring again) is one of Texas A&M's returning players. It's kept their defense sharp, but the offense needs to grow.
