Sumsub Platform Lets Sportsbooks Tackle Responsible Gambling

The first month of the NFL season coincides annually with Responsible Gaming Education Month, a critical period given the uptick in compulsive gambling cases since the U.S. Supreme Court's PASPA decision.

As a way of marking the occasion, a global company known for its full-cycle verification platform launched a new responsible gambling product this week. The platform from Sumsub, a London-based company, aims to enable gaming companies to promote safe and responsible activity. The company developed the responsible gambling tool based in part on its Transaction Monitoring system, another high-tech solution designed to help mitigate fraud.

The platform has the capability to monitor when deposit amounts from a customer are disproportionate to their income. The product also contains software that allows operators to perform betting pattern analysis and player behavior monitoring.

“This new Responsible Gaming control solution ensures online gaming platforms detect players with addiction, mitigate fraud risks, and ensure full compliance with the latest industry regulations all in a timely manner,” said Tony Petrov, who serves as chief legal officer at Sumsub, in a statement.
