Coming off a 21-win season last year, the Saint Louis Billikens have come out on fire this season with three straight wins, all at home. The Billikens took out Illinois State on Saturday night with an 80-71 win at Chaifetz Arena. Saint Louis was led once again by their lone returning starter from last year's team, Gibson Jimerson, who scored 20 points, with 15 points coming from the free throw line. Sincere Parker continues to relish his new role as a starter this season and chipped in with 19 points and nine rebounds in the victory. Terrance Hargrove Jr. had 12 points as well in the winning effort, going 5-of-6 from the charity stripe. Overall, the Billikens connected on 30-of-37 free throws in the game.

The Billikens hope to maintain some of the excellent numbers the team put up last year. While only one starter returns, the Billikens have several returning players that are taking on a more pr ominent role this season. Last year, Saint Louis was 77th in the country in points per game and an even better 47th in field goal percentage. Defensively, the Billikens were 55th in opponents' shooting percentage and finished 30th in the nation in total rebounding. On Saturday night, the Billikens committed just 10 turnovers in the game after finishing 141st in the nation in turnovers per game last season.
