The San Jose Sharks lost to the Arizona Coyotes at home on Thursday, 5-2, dropping both contests of their two-game homestand. San Jose continues to rule the bottom of the NHL, tied with the Chicago Blackhawks for the worst record in the league. The Sharks are 3-13-1 on the road this season.

The Sharks and Coyotes were tied at one a little over six minutes into the second period, but the Coyotes dominated from there, scoring four of the final goals. Mikael Granlund had an assist in the loss and now has three assists over the last five games. The San Jose offense is the worst in the NHL, producing just 2.09 goals per game despite a power play connecting on 20.9% of their opportunities.

T he Sharks have also struggled a lot on the other end of the ice, last in goals against average (3.94) and 28th in penalty killing (72.8%). McKenzie Blackwood (4-13-2, 3.81, .894) stopped 25 shots in the loss. He and Kaapo Kahkonen (5-8-1, 3.61, .899) have mediocre numbers but are getting very little support at this point.
