The San Antonio Spurs are currently in last place in the Western Conference, and are clearly building for the future with Victory Wembanyama. There were rumors that the Spurs may try to trade for a true point guard to pair with Wemby, but the Spurs did not find a trade deadline deal that they liked. San Antonio comes into this matchup on a seven game losing streak. In their last game, they were led by Wembanyama with 21 points, and Keldon Johnson added 19 off the bench.

Wemby leads the team in points, rebounds, blocks and steals with 20.3 PPG, 10.0 RPG, 3.0 blocks per game, and 1.1 steals per game. He is the current betting favorite for Rookie of the Year with -270 odds, and is leading the league in blocked shots. Wemby had a double-double in three of his last five games, including a 19 point, 14 rebound game in a loss to Cleveland. Devin Vassell is their top perimeter scorer, he is averaging 18.9 PPG and 3.6 APG. He is the top shooter on the team with 2.5 made threes per game on 36.3% shooting from deep. Keldon Johnson is another wing scorer, and has been coming off the bench recently while averaging 16.4 PPG. Jeremy Sochan continues to start as a multi-tooled forward averaging 11.3 PPG and 6.1 RPG, but San Antonio moved him off the point and began starting Tre Jones who leads the team with 5.8 APG while adding 9.8 PPG.

Zach Collins is a strong big who can stretch the floor and is averaging 11.7 PPG, and forward Julian Champagnie has been used in the starting lineup as a role player scoring 5.9 PPG. The Spurs rank 27th in the league in offensive efficiency and 25th in defensive efficiency according to dunksandthrees.com. The Spurs play at the 5th fastest tempo in the NBA.
