Azaitar vs Prado Prediction
Both of these lightweight fighters have largely dominated the competition for the majority of their respective MMA careers. For example, Ottman Azaitar began his career with a 13-0 record, which includes back-to-back knockout wins in his first two UFC fights. Unfortunately, he heads to Sin City following a KO loss to Matt Frevola at UFC 281.
On the other hand, Francisco Prado opened his MMA career with 11 consecutive victories, finishing each opponent in his path. Prado's impressive run came to an end at UFC 284, though, when he fell to Jamie Mullarkey via unanimous decision.
After Prado lost his UFC debut, I'm more inclined to side with Azaitar this week. "Bulldozer" has at l east won twice at the UFC level and holds the edge when it comes the significant strikes per minute (6.97 vs. 1.87), striking accuracy (54% vs. 37%) and defense (63% vs. 43%).
With Prado still having much to prove, look for Azaitar to bounce back at the Apex.
