Orlando Magic vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-1-2022

Orlando will be trying to pick up its second win of the season when it travels to Oklahoma City on Tuesday night. The Magic snapped a five-game losing skid to open the season with a win over Charlotte last Friday, but they lost to Dallas in their next game. Oklahoma City is red-hot coming into this matchup, having won three consecutive contests.

Orlando entered the season expected to be one of the worst teams in the NBA, and the Magic have done nothing to change that narrative thus far. They lost five straight games to open their campaign, with three of those setbacks coming by double digits. The Magic were able to pick up their first win of the year last Friday, beating Charlotte in a 113-93 final. They could not use that momentum to their advantage on Sunday, falling to Dallas by nine points on the road. This will be Orlando’s fourth road game in a five-game stretch, so fatigue will be something to keep an eye on.

The Magic have struggled to get anything going on the offensive end of the court, ranked No. 27 in the NBA in points per game (105.3). However, rookie Paolo Banchero, who was the No. 1 pick in the draft, has lived up to the hype thus far. He is averaging 22.7 points, 7.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists in the first seven games of his career. Banchero is coming off his worst performance so far, getting held to 18 points on 6 of 20 shooting against the Mavericks. Orlando has been without Jalen Suggs (ankle) in its last five games, while point guard Cole Anthony has missed the last two. Anthony is expected to be out until at least Nov. 5, while Suggs is a game-time decision on Tuesday. Power forward Wendell Carter Jr. has played a key role thus far, averaging 14.1 points and 9.3 rebounds.
