Northwestern at Wisconsin Prediction – Basketball Picks 2/5/23

The Northwestern Wildcats will make the two-trip Madison and meet the Wisconsin Badgers in Big Ten action from the Kohl Center. Wisconsin leads the-time series, 83-44, but Northwestern did win the first matchup in eight games two weeks ago.

Northwestern dropped to 15-7 after losing to Michigan at home. The Wildcats traded leads with Wolverines early on, but they’d fall apart after the break, and suffer a 17-point loss. Northwestern is scoring 69.1 points per game, while allowing 62.5 ppg, and shooting 40.5% from the field.

Northwestern has dropped their last two games, and they’ll have to avoid falling apart at the wrong point in the season. Chris Collins’ team is in a good spot to crash the big Dance, they just have to stop the bleeding prematurely. The Wildcats are 6-5 in Big Ten play, with a 4-2 road record. Northwestern is led by the talented backcourt pairing of Boo Buie and Chase Audige. Buie is a four-year starter who’s scored 20 points or more in six of the last eight games, and he’s leading NW in scoring (16.2) and assists (4.5). scored a team-high 20 points in the win over MSU, and he’s averaging 13.8 ppg, and a team-lead 4.2 apg. Audige played big in their last win over Minnesota, scoring 24 points to bring his season total to 15.5 ppg.
