NFL Reinstates 5 Players, But Rodgers Sr. Remains Inactive

The NFL reinstated five players suspended for violations of the league's gambling policy, even as former Indianapolis Colts defensive back Isaiah Rodgers Sr. remains inactive.

Last June, the NFL suspended Rodgers for the 2023-24 season after reported that the former Colts corner placed hundreds of bets on sports, including at least one on his own team. Rodgers also made a four-figure wager on a Colts' rushing yards total, one later revealed as the over on Jonathan Taylor yards in a game.

Now a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, Rodgers' return remains under review, ESPN reported on Thursday. Rodgers applied for reinstatement last month, a source told on the condition of anonymity.

The NFL reinstated Commanders defensive end Shaka Toney, as well as four free agents who placed bets during the 2022-23 NFL season. Toney, a 2021 seventh-round pick, has recorded 1.5 sacks in two seasons with the Commanders.
