The New York Knicks are on the road as they make the trip to take on the Houston Rockets Monday night. New York was in action Saturday night at home against Indiana in their previous contest, losing 125-111 and failing to cover the line as a three-point underdog. Houston closed a back-to-back set on Saturday night as they traveled to face the Hawks in another interconference tilt. They fell 122-113 and failed to cover the line as a seven-point underdog. In the all-time regular season series between the teams, the Knicks own a 78-74 advantage and have won the last eight meetings. That includes a 109-94 home victory in the first matchup this season on January 17.

New York suffered their second straight loss and their third in the last four games as they were knocked off by the Pacers at home Saturday night. The Knicks fell to 33-20 on the season and stand second in the Atlantic Division, 7.5 games behind the Celtics for the top spot. They were fourth in the Eastern Conference, 7.5 games behind Boston for the top spot and four games ahead of Orlando to remain in a guaranteed playoff spot. Against Indiana, New York was up one after the opening quarter and trailed by three at the half before things went sideways. The Pacers outscored the Knicks 64-53 in the second half to deal New York the loss: a last-second three-pointer at the end of the third quarter put them down nine and they would get no closer down the stretch. New York shot 47.6% from the field, including 10 of 32 from three-point range, and allowed Indiana to shoot 61% in the game. Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 39 points in the loss.

For the year, the Knicks are 15th in the league in scoring offense with 115 points per contest entering this game. New York is 4th in the league in rebounding as they collect 46 rebounds per game while they are 29th in the league in assists by dishing out 23.9 dimes per contest. The Knicks are 3rd in the league in scoring defense by allowing 109.9 points per contest. Jalen Brunson (27.5 points, 6.5 assists) and Julius Randle (24 points, 9.2 rebounds, five assists) are the top two scoring options for the Knicks this season. OG Anunoby (15.3 points, 4.2 rebounds), Bojan Bogdanovic (19.9 points), Alec Burks (12.8 points), Donte DiVincenzo (13.5 points), Isaiah Hartenstein, Mitchell Robinson, Precious Achiuwa and Josh Hart are key contributors for coach Tom Thibodeau. Robinson (ankle) is expected to be out the rest of the year after undergoing surgery in mid-December. Anunoby (elbow) is out until early March while Randle (shoulder) is slated to be out until late February. Hartenstein (Achilles) and Sims (illness) were out Saturday. Both players are questionable for this contest so watch for any further updates regarding their status.
