The New Jersey Devils (25-21-4, 54 points, 5th Metro) play for the second straight night on Tuesday when visiting the Nashville Predators (27-23-2, 56 points, 5th Central), after playing at home on Monday against the Seattle Kraken. New Jersey was defeated by the Carolina Hurricanes 1-0 on Saturday night and the Devils have lost four of the last five. Nashville defeated the Arizona Coyotes in overtime 5-4 on Saturday night, snapping a three-game losing streak but the Predators have lost five of the last seven. New Jersey is six points behind the second and final wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference and Nashville is two points behind the second and final wildcard spot in the Western Conference. New Jersey will play without Jonas Siegenhaler, Brendan Smith, Mi chael McLeod, Cal Foote and Dougie Hamilton. Nashville does not have any players listed on its injury report.

New Jersey has a goals for average of 3.38 per game which is 9th in the NHL, while averaging 30.9 shots per game which is 16th.
