New Jersey Devils vs. N.Y. Islanders  Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 3-27-2023

The New Jersey Devils face the New York Islanders with both teams looking to close out great seasons strong. The Devils have a 46-19-8 record and with the second-best record in the Metropolitan Division, they have already secured their spot in the playoffs. The Islanders have a 37-28-9 record and hold the top wild card spot in the Eastern Conference but are hoping to rebound from back-to-back losses. Both teams are looking to improve in the Eastern Conference playoff picture and the upcoming game should be a great one.

The Devils are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.48 goals per game with nine goals in the last two games. Jack Hughes, Jesper Bratt, and Nico Hischier have scored 89 goals and 135 assists to lead the top two lines but the entire offense has been great. The offense has been great but the defense has stepped up as well, allowing only 2.70 goals per game. Dougie Hamilton and Ryan Graves have combined for 9.4 defensive point shares and 216 blocked shots while Jonas Seigenthaler, John Marino, and Damon Severson have combined for 11.3 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Vitek Vanecek has stepped up with a .909 save percentage and a 2.49 goals-agains t average on 1175 shots with 5.7 goals saved above average.
