Wood vs Fili Prediction

After making his debut more than five years ago, Nathaniel Wood has made himself right at home in the UFC. He's gone 6-2 through his first eight fights and has yet to lose consecutive outings. He heads to London following back-to-back wins, most recently defeating Charles Jourdain via points back in September.

Meanwhile, Andre Fili's recent history has been a mixed bag, to say the least. The 33-year-old veteran fighter has two wins, three losses, and a no-contest in his previous six bouts. Having said that, he was most recently victorious at UFC Vegas 60, overcoming Bill Algeo by split decision.

Due to Fili's inconsistencies, I'm backing Wood to win Saturday afternoon. Even if Fili has the size advantage, Wood boasts superior striking and grappling numbers. Furthermore, the Englishman tends to thrive in the host city, tallying a 10-1 all-time record in London.

Expect the English crowd to give Wood a boast this weekend.

Wood vs Fili Best Bet

I like the idea of Nathaniel Wood winning by points (+120) at UFC Fight Night 224. After all, Wood hasn't finished an opponent in over four years while each of his last four fights has gone the distance. At the same time, 10 of Filie's 13 previous bouts were also decided by some form of decision.

Considering how Fili has only been finished once since October 2016, it's reasonable to believe that Wood wins by points Saturday afternoon.
