The offense has struggled but the defense has let them down, allowing 3.45 goals per game including seven goals in the last two games. Johnathan Kovacevic and Mike Matheson have combined for 3.5 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease. The bright spot has been the play of goaltender Samuel Mountembeault who has a .908 save percentage and a 3.06 goals-against average on 823 shots with 2.9 goals saved above average.
