Memphis vs. Tulane Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-22-2022

Memphis will try to bounce back from a two-game losing streak when it travels to No. 25 Tulane on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers are coming off one of the wildest games of the season, losing to East Carolina in four overtimes. Tulane is ranked for the first time this century following its three-game winning streak.

Memphis has had an up-and-down season so far, which began with a blowout loss at Mississippi State, which has wound up being one of the better teams in the SEC West. The Tigers bounced back with a four-game winning streak, with all four of those victories coming by double digits. They have lost a pair of heartbreakers since then though, falling to Houston by one point and then losing to East Carolina in a quadruple-overtime thriller last week. Memphis led the Cougars 26-7 in the fourth quarter two weeks ago before allowing Houston to rally for a shocking win.

The Tigers forced overtime against the Pirates last week by scoring a touchdown with 19 seconds remaining, but they held a double-digit lead in that game as well. Quarterback Seth Henigan completed 27 of 37 passes for 407 yards and two touchdowns, connecting with two different receivers for more than 100 yards each. Kicker Chris Howard was named the AAC Special Teams Player of the Week after kicking three field goals against East Carolina—he has made all 14 of his field goal tries this season. Henigan has completed 65.1% of his passes for 1,924 yards, 12 touchdowns and three interceptions this season. Tight end Caden Prieskorn, wide receiver Gabriel Rogers and wide receiver Joseph Scates have each gone over 300 receiving yards.
