The Louisville Cardinals are battling atop the ACC as the season nears its end. They stand in second place behind only Florida State and 1.5 games ahead of the next closest squad. Louisville has won three in a row. Their only conference defeat occurred last month in a surprising road loss to Pittsburgh. They were huge 20.5-point favorites in a 31-24 home win against Virginia last week to improve to 6-1 in conference play. They have covered in two of their last three games. The Cardinals rallied to #9 in the AP Top 25.

Jack Plummer has recorded less than 245 passing yards in three straight games as the offense continues to opt for the run. The senior QB is having an outstanding season, collecting 2402 passing yards and a 16:9 TD to INT ratio. Louisville has a stellar running game. Jawhar Jordon continues to dazzle. The junior RB has now reached 100 rushing yards on five occasions and has 976 rushing yards on the year. Jamari Thrash is a big threat in the air. The junior WR has made 19 catches in his last three games and leads the squad with 734 receiving yards. The Louisville offense has collected over 30 points in two straight games.

The Cardinals' defense is elite and a big reason they are having an outstanding season. They have allowed 24 or fewer points in four of their last five bouts. The group shut out Duke in late October and while they allowed 434 total yards against Virginia last week, they held them to 24 points. The pass defense ranks 40th while the rush defense is among the best, marking 10th.

Louisville is averaging 32.7 points on the season, good for 34th. They are holding opponents to 17.1 points, placing them 13th.
