Los Angeles Kings vs. Dallas Stars Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-1-2022

The Los Angeles Kings (5-5, 6-4 PL, 7-2 O/U) take on the Dallas Stars (5-3-1, 6-3 PL, 2-6 O/U) in a conference battle on Tuesday evening. The Kings earned a home win against the Maple Leafs on Saturday and play in St. Louis on Monday night. The Stars dropped a home decision against the Rangers in their previous action. Dallas went 2-1 against the Kings last season.

The Los Angeles Kings enter the second game of a three-game road trip in this one. L.A. has been inconsistent so far this season but has reasonably fared well on the road, going 3-2 in their five road bouts entering Monday night. The Kings are producing in the offensive end and logged a 4-2 home win against the Maple Leafs on Saturday night. 

Gabriel Vilardi continues to dazzle. The 23-year-old center has registered a goal in three consecutive games and now has a team-leading seven markers along with four assists on the season. Vilardi has posted at least one point in all but one game. Anze Kopitar has collected three points in his last three games and has accumulated nine points on the year. The veteran center had one point in three meetings against the Stars last season. Phillip Danault has rebounded from a sluggish opening string of games, posting a four-game point streak. The 29-year-old has four goals and two assists along with a minus-one rating. 

The Kings will have not received strong goaltending this season. Jonathan Quick is a proven veteran but has logged a 3.81 GAA and a poor .878 save %. Cal Petersen has similar numbers, recording a 4.10 GAA and an .865 save %. Los Angeles is averaging a stellar 3.4 goals per game, landing them 10th in the NHL. They are having trouble defensively, conceding an average of 4.3 goals, pegging them 30th.
