Seattle Kraken vs. Calgary Flames Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-1-2022

The Seattle Kraken face the Calgary Flames with both teams off to strong starts to the season. The Kraken have a 4-4-2 record while the Flames have a 5-2 record and hope to rebound from their second loss of the season. Both teams are looking to improve in the Pacific Division and the Western Conference and the upcoming game should be a good one as a result.

The Kraken has shown promise this season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.30 goals per game including 12 goals in the last three games. Jaden Schwartz has scored five goals and five assists while Jared McCann, Matthew Beniers, and Andre Burakovsky have added 12 goals and 12 assists to the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also looked great. Jordan Eberle, Oliver Bjorkstrand, and Brandon Tanev have combined for three goals and 14 assists while defensemen Vince Dunn and Justin Schultz have added two goals and 10 assists to open up the offense.

The offense has stepped up but the defense has struggled for the Kraken, allowing 3.40 goals per game. Adam Larsson and Carson Soucy have combined for 1.4 defensive point shares, 22 blocked shots, and 49 blocked shots but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goalte nder Martin Jones has struggled in the net with a .879 save percentage and a 3.09 goals-against average on 174 shots.
