Iowa vs. South Carolina Player Props & Prediction: Clark, Cardoso Clash in National Championshipiv class=”bodyContent col-lg-9 mb-3″>

The Iowa Hawkeyes, led by Caitlin Clark, hope to overcome the unbeaten South Carolina Gamecocks in the March Madness championship, and we have our Iowa vs. South Carolina player props based on the top national championship game odds.

The 37-0 South Carolina Gamecocks hope to cap off a flawless season in Sunday's championship against Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes (34-4), taking place at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio.

With the much-anticipated game set to tip off at 3 p.m. ET on ABC/ESPN, the Gamecocks are a 6.5-point favorite according to our best sports betting sites. However, they face a formidable challenge in containing Clark, who leads the pack by the women's Wooden Award odds. This highly awaited rematch of the 2023 Final Four promises an enthralling battle between two powerhouse teams vying for supremacy on the national stage.

To complement our Iowa vs. South Carolina prediction, here are our best Iowa vs. South Carolina player props for the national championship game (odds via our best March Madness betting sites; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

There's no better scorer in college basketball history than Clark, but she's proven to be one of the best passers, too.

The Hawkeyes' All-American is first in the country in assists per game (9.0), and she hasn't slowed down during the NCAA Tournament. Clark has notched at least 10 assists three times through five rounds of March Madness, and she's averaging 9.4 per game.

While the Gamecocks' defense is top-notch and could contain Clark's scoring to some extent, it's allowing the 12th most as sists per game in the country (10.8). That number has jumped up to 13 during the last three rounds of the NCAA Tournament. It's a weakness that bodes well for Clark's playmaking ability.

The -120 odds at bet365 imply a 54.55% probability she hits the Over, according to our odds calculator.

The clearest mismatch in the national championship is Kamilla Cardoso's size vs. an Iowa lineup that doesn't utilize a player in its main six rotation over 6-foot-2. “Killa Milla” is the Gamecocks' top rebounder (9.5 per game), and at 6-foot-7 she can cause all kinds of problems for an undersized Hawkeyes rotation.

South Carolina is fourth in the country in rebounds per game behind Cardoso (46.2) and second in defensive rebounds (31.8). Cardoso should also be able to take advantage of a Hawkeyes squad that's just 176th in offensive rebounds allowed (11.0).

The even-money odds at bet365 mean a $10 bet can turn into a $10 profit if Cardoso pulls down 10-plus boards.

After South Carolina lost its undefeated season in 2023 during the Final Four against Iowa, several of Dawn Staley's top players hit the WNBA draft. One of Staley's most significant offseason moves to reload was bringing in guard Te-Hina Paopao through the transfer portal via Oregon. While Paopao isn't a stat stuffer like Clark, she possesses a steady hand and is averaging 3.7 assists per game during 2023-24.

She's been a lights-out shooter and playmaker during the NCAA Tournament, and Paopao is coming off a six-assist game vs. NC State in the Final Four. Paopao will be needed even more to make plays against an Iowa defense that allows 71.5 points per game (320th in the country). She can take advantage of a Hawkeyes team that gives up the most assists per game in women's college basketball (14.6).
