The Houston Astros have had a season practically free of adversity. They won 106 games during the regular season, easily won the AL West and earned a bye and then won each of their first two series in sweeps. Now, in the World Series, the Astros have lost two of the first three games and find themselves facing the reality of needing a win in Philadelphia against a team that is now 6-0 at home in the postseason. The Astros were held scoreless on Tuesday night and are still waiting for an offensive outburst from several key players. Yordan Alvarez is hitting just .091 in the series and hasn't homered since game two of the ALDS. Alex Bregman is now hitting just .182 in the World Series while trying to offer protection for Alvarez in the fourth spot in the lineup.

Cristian Javier is now charged with doing what Lance McCullars Jr was unable to do in game three, keep the ball in the ballpark. Javier might be the man up for the challenge. He allowed just 17 home runs over 30 appearances in the regular season and comes in as one of the hottest Astros pitchers. In his last five starts, he is 3-0 with a 0.32 ERA while throwing 28.1 innings and giving up just 10 hits. He has struck out 37 batters in that time with a WHIP of 0.64 and 11.75 K/9. He has only allowed one home run in that time as well. In the 7-0 loss, Baker kept out his key relievers so he has a fresh, deep bullpen ready to go in game four.
