Holm vs Silva Prediction
Holly Holm has dealt with her fair share of medical issues over the last few years but has still managed to put together a solid run. The 41-year-old veteran has won three of her last four fights, most recently overcoming Yana Santos by unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN 43.
Although she doesn't have the same level of experience as her opponent, Mayra Bueno Silva's recent success can't be ignored. She only has one loss in her last six fights while winning her three most recent outings in a row. Even more impressive is that her last two victories both came by submission before the end of Round 2.
I'm going with Holm getting the win this weekend. For starters, her cardio is much better than that of Silva, who's only fought to the fifth round once in 13 previous bouts. Holm will also be the toughest opponent Silva has faced thus far and boasts good enough grappling defense to thwart the underdog's submission attempts.
It'll be a lengthy matchup, but Holm has what it takes to succeed.
