Fairfield at Marist Prediction – Basketball Picks 2/17/23

The Fairfield Stags will head down to Poughkeepsie to face the Marist Red Wolves in Metro League play from the McCann Arena on ESPN+. Fairfield leads the all-time series, 41-27, after winning three of the last four meetings.

Fairfield moved to 11-14 after beating Mount St. Mary’s at home. The Stags forced overtime and prevailed in the extra period to defeat the Mountaineers by four points, 76-72. Fairfield is scoring 64.3 points per game, while allowing 64.8 ppg, and shooting 40.3% from the field.

Fairfield snapped a four-game skid with the win over MSM, and they’ll look to build on that here against a struggling Marist team. The Stags are 7-8 in Metro League play, with a 3-8 road record. Supreme Cook has been one of the best front court players in the conference. The junior forward snagged a season-high 14 boards against The Mount, and he leads the team in scoring (13.1) and rebounding (8.4). Sophomore guard TJ Long scored a game-high 25 points in first matchup with Marist last month, and after scoring 21 point last time out he’s up to 9.6 ppg.
