The Kent State Golden Flashes will host the Eastern Michigan Eagles from the on the CBSSN. Kent State leads the all-time series, 49-33, after winning five matchups in a row.
Eastern Michigan dropped to 6-20 after losing to Akron At home. The Eagles let things get out of hand in the second half, and the Zips would pour it on to hand them a 27-point win. EMU scores 73.5 points per game, while allowing 81.1ppg, and shooting 44.3% from the floor.
Eastern Michigan just can’t seem to get it right with one of the best players in the country, and their season is pretty much in the drain. EMU is 3-10 MAC play, with a 2-10 record on the road. Emoni Bates is indeed a one of a kind talent, but double teams and poor shooting nights have led to a messy season for the Eagles. If Bates doesn’t have a huge game, they can’t compete, and if he’s not on, there’s an unfortunate chance he shoots them out of the game. Eastern Michigan lives and dies by the production of Bates, and he leads the team in scoring (20.2) and rebounding (5.6). Junior guard Tyson Acuff has stepped up along side him, scoring 29 or more in three of the last four games, and he’s up to 14.7 ppg.
