The NBA season churns ahead on Wednesday, and one of the late-night matchups features a cross-conference battle between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Portland Trail Blazers. Cleveland comes into this one at 4-6 while Portland is currently 3-7. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:00 ET from the Moda Center in Portland, OR.

The expectations are high in Cleveland this season as the Cavaliers are looking to build on last year’s playoff appearance. They would eventually bow out in the first round, but it was good for the Cleveland faithful to have playoff basketball again. J.B. Bickerstaff returns as the head coach this year, and his squad is out to a 4-6 start. They’ll wrap up a four-game west coast road trip on Wednesday, which featured stops in Oklahoma City (L, 128-120), Golden State (W, 118-110), and Sacramento (L, 132-120). From a sports betting perspective, the Cavs come into Wednesday’s contest at 3-7 ATS and they’ve seen six of their 10 games go over the total.

As for the recent loss to Sacramento, the 252 combined easily cleared the pregame total of 228.5 points. Cleveland failed to cover as a 3.5-point underdog. As for the team-level statistics, Cleveland was out-shot from both the field (59.0% to 49.5%) and three-point range (47.6% to 45.7%) while also losing the turnover battle (11 to 10).

Individually, Donovan Mitchell has been the most productive player in the backcourt, leading the way in both scoring (28.7 PPG) and steals (2.1 SPG). Evan Mobley has made his presence known down low, adding 16.1 points per contest while posting a team-leading 10.3 rebounds per night.
