The Chicago State Cougars will head up to Minneapolis and face the Minnesota Golden Gophers in non-conference action from the Williams Arena on B1G+.
Chicago State dropped 3-11 after losing to in-state foe Illinois State. The Cougars dropped their fourth game in a row after being out-scored by the Redbirds in both halves, and lost by 14 points. put a real scare on the Racers, nearly ending their 18-game home win-streak with a strong first half. Chicago State is scoring 66.1 points per game, while allowing 74.7 ppg, shooting 41.2% from the field.
Chicago State is led by a pair of sophomore guards in Wesley Cardet Jr. and Jahsean Corbett. Cardet Jr, a Samford transfer, leads the Cougs in scoring after a 25-point outing against Tenn-Martin with 16.2 ppg. Corbett double-doubled for the fourth time in the loss to Marquette, bringing his numbers to 13.8 ppg, and a team-lead 8.1 rpg. Dayton transfer Elijah Weaver brings over 110 games of experience to the lineup, and he’s posting personal-best of 10.5 ppg and 3.9 rpg.
