The Carolina Hurricanes and Minnesota Wild face off on Saturday in an NHL showdown at the Xcel Energy Center. The Wild have won the last two games against the Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes come into this game with a 10-5-2 record overall and away from home they have gone 6-3-1. On Thursday against the Colorado Avalanche, the Hurricanes were competitive, but they ended up losing 3-2 in overtime. The Hurricanes had 48 shots on goal, but only scored twice. The Hurricanes are averaging 2.94 goals per game while their defense is giving up 2.71 goals per game. The defense is ranked 7th in the NHL. Martin Necas has scored eight goals and added 13 assists.

On the other side of this matchup is the Wild who sit with a 7-8-2 record and they have gone 2-5-1 at home. On Thursday the Wild’s defense struggled giving up six goals, and the offense only scoring four goals wasn’t enough. Marc-André Fleury is dealing with an injury and won’t be able to go in this game. Filip Gustavsson started the last game and stopped 26 of the 31 shots that he faced. The Wild are averaging 2.71 goals per game while their defense is giving up 3.06 goals per game. Kirill Kaprizov has scored 10 goals and added nine assists so far this season. Jordan Greenway is questionable for this game, and if he can play that would be a big boost for this team.
