The Campbell Fighting Camels (1-1, 1-1 ATS, 1-1 O/U) battle the Virginia Tech Hokies (1-1, 1-1 ATS, 2-0 O/U) in non-conference play on Wednesday evening. The Camels are 1-1 after a road loss to East Carolina last time out. The Hokies are also 1-1 on the season after they were dealt a road defeat by South Carolina.

The Campbell Camels are 1-1 after two bouts. Campbell was 2.5 point favorites in a solid 59-48 home win against Navy in their season debut. Next, they headed on the road and dropped a 77-63 decision to East Carolina in a bout that had Campbell marked 13-point dogs. The program went a subpar 16-18 last season and lost four of its top five scorers.
Anthony Dell’Orso is the leading returning scorer. The sophomore guard averaged 12.5 PPG on 48.7% shooting last season. He has been outstanding early, averaging 24.5 PPG and 6.5 RPG. Gediminas Mokseckas is expected to be a key player after posting just 3.4 points on an average of 23 minutes of playing time. The senior guard is enjoying an encouraging start, netting 20 points on 50% shooting. Laurynas Vaistaras is another player being asked to increase production. The senior forward averaged 4.3 PPG la st year and has scored 17 points on a 5 for 5 mark from the field.

The Camels are ranked 299th in DI in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and were voted to finish 12th in the CAA preseason poll. This marks their first season in the CAA. Campbell only averaged 69.8 points last season, marking them 215th. They allowed an average of 68.5 points, placing them 128th. After two bouts, Campbell is shooting a solid 49.4% while holding opponents to 41.2% shooting.
