Bucknell at Rutgers – 12/23/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Bucknell Bison will head to the RAC and face the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in non-conference action this Friday on the Big Ten Network. This will mark the 30th time Rutgers and Bucknell face on, and the Scarlet Knights hold a 21-8 all-time series lead.

Bucknell fell 7-5 after losing to Richmond on Wednesday. The Bison trailed by 16 points at the break, and while they failed to win the game, they did manage to cover by one point. Bucknell is scoring 73.7 points per game, while allowing 65.4 ppg, and shooting 50.1% from the field.

Despite the middling start, Bucknell may be back to their winning ways this season. The Bison haven’t notched a standout victory just yet, but they’ve been competitive each time out, and even put a scare of Georgia. Senior guard Xander Rice leads the team in scoring (15.9) after reaching double figures in each game. Bucknell deploys a pair of veteran centers in Adam Timmerman and Andre Screen in their starting lineup. Timmerman scored a game-high 23 points in the win over Austin Peay, and he leads the Bison in rebounding (6.9), while scoring 11.6 ppg. Screen posted a 20-point double-double against La Salle, and he’s up to an identical line of 11.5 ppg and 6.2 rpg.
