Alabama & LSU Poised For Historic Matchup

Few college football rivalries are bigger than the one between the Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers. The two SEC foes are set to collide at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday in what will surely be a competitive affair between two ranked schools.

It also turns out that the pair are set to make some history this we ekend. Saturday's game marks the 30th time that Alabama and LSU have faced each other as top-25 schools, setting the record for the most frequent ranked matchup in SEC history.

Alabama vs LSU Week 10

In the 29 previous times that Alabama and LSU have met as ranked foes, the Crimson Tide have won the majority of meetings. Alabama is 19-9-1 against LSU when both sides are in the top 25.

Having said that, it was the Tigers that won the last all-ranked battle with the Crimson Tide. They secured a 46-41 victory back in November 2019 when LSU entered as the No. 1 school while Alabama sat at No. 2.

Repeating that moment won't be easy for LSU, though. Alabama has dominated this SEC rivalry over the last decade, going 10-1 straight up in its last 11 games against the Tigers. The rivals were both ranked in nine of those matchups, six of which went to the Crimson Tide by double-digit margins.

Home-field advantage also doesn't mean much for the Tigers. Alabama is 27-8-2 in 37 trips to Tiger Stadium with its .757 winning percentage being the best among all schools that have visited LSU at least 10 times.

At the end of the day, this is a college football matchup that fans won't want to miss, whether they cheer for LSU and Alabama or not. If either program wants to catch undefeated Georgia and Tennes see, a victory on Saturday night is crucial.

Oddsmakers aren't expecting much of a close game this weekend. Despite LSU having the home crowd on its side, it's Alabama that enters as the 13.5-point favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook's NCAAF odds. The game is also anticipated to be relatively high-scoring with a projected total of 56.5 points.
