Thirteen expected future NFL players are confirmed to attend — a low number compared to the past drafts — with the hopes of hearing their names called and receiving the big hug or handshake from Commissioner Roger Goodell. LSU QB Jayden Daniels has been moving up on draft boards throughout the draft process. This tantalizing prospect has scouts drooling over his playmaking ability with his arm and legs. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner threw for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns, while rushing for 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns during his magical 2023 campaign. NFL.com lists him at 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds.
The other name that has been thrown around since the NFL Draft order was set is North Carolina QB Drake Maye. He put up impressive numbers as a redshirt sophomore, throwing for 3,608 yards and 24 touchdowns with 9 interceptions. What seems to be glossed over is his rushing ability, Maye ran for 449 yards and another 9 TDs. The downside to having all that aforementioned arm talent and confidence is the occasional “heat check” throw that almost seem arrogant at first glance.
