Barbasol Championship Field and Course
The Barbasol Championship is played opposite the Scottish Open, where the top PGA pros compete. This week's Barbasol Championship is played for the fifth time at Keene Trace Golf Club just South of Lexington. It's a low-grade event where shootouts are common. Each of the last five winners has shot -21 under par or better, and four have won by 1-shot including Trey Mullinax (-25) last year over tournament favorite Kevin Str eelman, and those two top the field again but are ranked outside the top 100.
This year's Barbasol Championship is a co-sanctioned event with the DP World Tour for its second year. So nearly 50 DP World Tour pros will tee it up at the Champions Course in Kentucky with a chance to earn non-member FedExCup Points in pursuit of a PGA Tour card. The top DPP World Tour players in the field are Julien Guerrier (No. 32), Aaron Cockerill (40), and Marcus Helligkilde (44).
