Zurich Classic 2023: Predictions, Best Bets, Sleepers

Here are some predictions, best bets and sleeper picks for the Zurich Classic from BetMGM's Ryan Hannable

Following a thrilling'Masters'and'RBC Heritage'- both'designated events'- this week is unique. The Zurich Classic from TPC Louisana is the lone team event of the season on the PGA Tour.'

Eighty teams of two players will play a best-ball format Thursday and alternate shot Friday'before the field is cut to the top 33 teams and ties for the weekend.

Patrick Cantlay/Xander Schauffele are the defending champions and are'massive favorites'this week at +300.

Since it is a team event, it's a hard one to handicap since it's two players and because of the different formats.'

It does make sense to target pairings who are comfortable with each other and have experience playing team gol f together. Just look at Cantlay and Schauffele, who are good friends off the course and have teamed up at the Presidents Cup and'Ryder Cup.

I will not use a Fantasy National model this week or look at course history. I will mostly try to find pairs that I suspect will be comfortable with each other and enter the event playing good golf.
