After Carlos Rodon couldn't secure a win in his second start of the season, the Yankees are sending Clarke Schmidt to the bump. While Schmidt struggled to start the season, he hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in ten consecutive outings. His ERA has dropped from a 6.84 at the end od April to now at 4.40.
While Schmidt is trending in the right direction, the Rockies pitcher, Connor Seabold, has stuggled immensly of late. He has surrendered an average of six earned runs over his last four starts and his ERA is at 6.41.
I expect Seabold to be the perfect remedy for the Yankees struggling bats. New hitting coach Sean Casey was brought in to try and inject some life into this Yankees offense, and it should start tonight with Seabold on the hill.

While Schmidt has put together a string of solid outings, those haven't come with many strikeouts. His total for Saturday sits at 4.5, and he has only hit the over on that once across his seven appearances since the start of June. That being said, he's in a great position to change that on Saturday. The Rockies rank No. 21 in the MLB with over nine strikeouts per game.
When Scmhist went up against the Seattle Mariners earlier this season, a team that strikeout at a similar rate, he racked up seven in that outing. Expect Schmidt to keep the good starts rolling here and to actually get some strikeouts in this one as well.
