Suddenly, the Longhorns are being seen as national championship contenders, and quarterback Quinn Ewers has entered the Heisman conversation after a three-touchdown performance.
Wyoming (2-0) has already achieved one upset over a Big 12 opponent by defeating Texas Tech in Week 1. Can Ewers and his team avoid a letdown as they face the Cowboys?

Conventional wisdom would say the Longhorns are due for a letdown after snapping Alabama's 21-game home winning streak last week. Maybe that ultimately impacts the 30-point spread, but UT's talent should overwhelm Wyoming from start to finish.
As a result, I'm expecting a short night for Ewers and the first-team offense. This opens the door to taking his Under on touchdown passes (2.5) or passing yards (281.5), but betting against Ewers throwing an interception seems like the best option at this price.
Ewers has thrown six touchdowns and no interceptions through two games, so we are expecting another clean outing to close out nonconference play. Not only has Ewers not thrown an interception, but Pro Football Focus hasn't even tracked a turnover-worthy play for him so far this season. Ewers is the lone quarterback in the Big 12 with at least 50 pass attempts to not have a turnover-worthy play.
A big reason for this is because the Longhorns don't take a lot of shots. Ewers ranks 12th in the league in average depth of target (9.4) and eighth in big-time throw rate (4.2%), per PFF.
Ewers might end up with impressive numbers in Week 3, but we aren't expecting Texas to test Wyoming too much through the air with conference play looming.
