The Western Michigan Broncos are on the road as they make the trip to face the Ohio Bobcats Saturday afternoon. Western Michigan fell 34-21 at home to Miami (OH) in their previous contest last Saturday, failing to cover the line as a 7.5-point underdog. Ohio fell 23-13 on the road to Northern Illinois in their previous contest, losing outright as a 5.5-point favorite, last Saturday. In the all-time series between the teams, the Broncos own a 34-30-1 advantage but it was the Bobcats earning a 33-14 road win in the most recent matchup on October 15, 2022.

Western Michigan lost their second straight and fourth in their last five games as they were beaten by Miami (OH) at home last week. The Broncos dropped to 2-5 on the season overall and 1-2 in the MAC, leaving them fifth in the West Division. Against Miami (OH), Western Michigan never led in the game, and after falling behind 7-0, didn’t get closer than four the rest of the way. The Broncos trailed 14-3 after the opening quarter, 21-10 at the half and 21-13 after three quarters. They got within 28-21 in the fourth quarter but that was it as they went scoreless the rest of the way. Western Michigan was outgained 315-303 in total offense, gave up 17 first downs while picking up 16 and lost the time of possession by a 31:37 to 28:23 margin. The Broncos did force two turnovers while not committing one but still fell short.

On the season, the Broncos are 95th in the nation in passing of fense by averaging 205.3 yards per contest while they are 50th in rushing offense with an average of 172.1 yards per game this season. Western Michigan is 92nd in the FBS in scoring offense as they put up 24.9 points per game while they are 129th in scoring defense by allowing 36.3 points per contest. Anthony Sambucci (12 catches, 209 yards, TD), Blake Bosma (10 grabs, 193 yards, TD), Austin Hence (20 recepti ons, 194 yards, two TD), Leroy Thomas (16 catches, 137 yards, TD) and Malique Dieudonne (17 grabs, 167 yards) are secondary options in the aerial game. Palmer Domschke is 22 of 22 on extra point attempts and four of seven on field goals with a long of 49 on the year.
