West Virginia at Baylor – 2/13/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The West Virginia Mountaineers will head down to Waco to meet the Baylor Bears in Big 12 play from the Ferrell Center on ESPN2. Baylor leads the head-to-head series, 15-8, after winning seven out of the last eight meetings.

West Virginia fell to 15-10 after losing to Texas in Austin. The Mountaineers were bullied by the Longhorns for 40 minutes, and they lost by 34 points. WVU is scoring 76.8 points per game, while allowing 70.2 ppg, while shooting 45.5% from the floor. 

West Virginia has been hindered by a very slow start in conference play, and if they don’t finish the season flawless, they’ll likely miss postseason play. The Mountaineers are 4-8 in Big 12 play, with a 2-6 road record.  also 2-7 in Big 12 play, with a 9-3 record at home. Former SC guard Erik Stevenson scored a season-high 34 points in the win over Oklahoma last week, and he leads WVU in scoring at 14.2 ppg. Texas transfer Tre Mitchell is leading the team in rebounding (5.4), while scoring 11.5 ppg. Senior guard Kerrigan Johnson scored 22 points in the win over ISU, and he’s up to 10.4 ppg.
