Washington Capitals at Carolina Hurricanes 10/31/22 – NHL Picks & Predictions

The Washington Capitals continue a road trip Monday night with a game in Raleigh, NC against the Carolina Hurricanes. Washington comes into Monday having struggled a bit this year only one game above .500 despite winning three of the last four games including a 3-0 win over Nashville on Saturday. Darcy Kuemper had one of his best games thus far this season against Nashville saving all 34 shots seen leading to the shutout victory.

The Washington offense has been mediocre thus far this season as the Capitals average 3.11 goals on 28.9 shots, while allowing 2.89 goals on 32.6 shots per game. Alex Ovechkin continues to lead the Washington offense with seven points and a team high four goals on 39 shots this year. Nick Jensen is the top setup man for Washington with five assists.

The Carolina Hurricanes return home Monday night with five wins through their first eight games played following a one goal overtime win in Philadelphia. Antii Raanta struggled a bit in the net for Carolina posting a .897 save percentage after allowing three goals on 29 shots but posted an overtime shutout to secure the victory for his team.
