The Vegas Golden Knights face the Montreal Canadiens with both teams heading in opposite directions to start the season. The Golden Knights have a 12-3-1 record and are in first place in the Pacific Division. The Canadiens have a 7-7-2 record and with two losses in a row, they have fallen to sixth place in the Atlantic Division. Both teams are looking to bounce back from rough losses and improve in the standings and the upcoming game should be a good one.

The Golden Knights are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.44 goals per game. Jack Eichel, William Karlsson, and Mark Stone have scored 18 goals and 29 goals to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has stepped up as well. Chandler Stephenson,  Jonathan Marchessault, and Michael Amadio have combined for 10 goals and 17 assists while defensemen Shea Theodore and Alex Pietrangelo have added four goals and 17 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has carried the Golden Knights, allowing only 2.19 goals per game with only three goals in the last two games. Brayden McNabb and Shea Theodore have combined for 2.8 defensive point shares and 70 blocked shots while Alex Pietrangelo, Alec Martinez, and Ben Hutton have combined for 2.1 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goaltender Adin Hill has been great with a .939 save percentage and a 1.75 goals-against average on 262 shots with 9.4 goals saved above average.
