A pair of programs from the Mountain West lock up on the floor in search of a victory in the Land of Enchantment. The UNLV Rebels are on the road as they travel to take on the #25 New Mexico Lobos Saturday night. UNLV downed Wyoming 62-48 at home in their previous contest last Saturday, covering the line as a nine-point favorite. New Mexico rolled to a 91-73 road win over Wyoming in their previous game Tuesday night, covering the line as a 10.5-point favorite. In the all-time series between the programs, the Rebels own a 42-26 advantage and have won the last two meetings. That includes an 83-73 home win in the first meeting this season back on January 9.

UNLV won their third straight game as they shut down Wyoming at home in their previous contest. The Rebels improved to 12-9 overall and stood tied for sixth with a 5-4 mark in the Mountain West conference. Against Wyoming, UNLV broke an 11-11 tie with an 8-0 run and led the rest of the way. The Rebels were up eight at the half and opened the second half with a 17-2 run over the first eight-plus minutes to take a 48-25 lead with 11:19 to play. UNLV didn’t let the lead drop below 12 the rest of the way en route to the victory. The Rebels shot 43.9% from the field, including eight of 20 from three-point range, and held the Cowboys to 34.6% shooting in the game to offset a 42-31 beating on the glass. Dedan Thomas Jr. (five assists, four steals) and Keylan Boone (seven rebounds, four assists) each had 14 points to lead the Rebels in the win.

On the season, UNLV is putting up an average of 75.1 points per contest, putting them 157th in the nation in scoring offense. The Rebels are collecting 33.5 rebounds a night while dishing out an average of 15 assists per contest. UNLV is above average on the defensive end of the floor as they surrender 69.7 points a game, putting them 118th in scoring defense. Luis Rodriguez is one of five players averaging in double figures as he puts up 12 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game this season. Kalib Boone (12.4 points, 4.7 rebounds), Dedan Thomas Jr. (11.9 points, 6.2 assists) and Jalen Hill (10.7 points, 6.1 boards) are good secondary scoring options. Keylan Boone (12.1 points, 6.6 rebounds), Justin Webster, Jackie Johnson III, Isaiah Cottrell, Shane Nowell, Rob Whaley Jr. and Brooklyn Hicks are key contributors for coach Kevin Kruger. The Rebels are shooting 46.9% from the floor as a team this year. UNLV is connecting on 7.4 three -pointers per contest while shooting 33.7% from beyond the arc. The Rebels are below average at the charity stripe as they are shooting 69.3% as a team this season.

Hill (knee) was injured January 6 against San Diego State and is out for the year. Webster (ankle) has missed the last three games and is questionable here.
