UL Monroe vs. Louisiana Tech Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-21-2022

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (1-2) will host the UL Monroe Warhawks (2-2) Monday in a non-conference matchup  between two teams with campuses that are less than 40 miles apart.

The Warhawks have suffered two blowout losses against Big 12 foes on the road and have two dominating wins over non-Division I cupcakes. The season opened up with an 87-54 loss to Texas A&M, followed by a 111-59 win over Dallas Christian and 105-56 over Central Baptist College. Last Thursday, the Warhawks lost to #15 TCU 95-60.

 

UL Monroe finished 13-18 last season and went 5-13 in Sun Belt play, ending the season on a six-game losing streak. The Warhawks are expected to struggle again, rated No. 264 in the si.com preseason ratings and 13th out of 14 Sun Belt teams.

Leading the Warhawks in scoring through the first four games is Tyreke Locure, a 6' transfer from UAB averaging 13 ppg. Nika Metshavarishvili, a 6'8 junior, is back from last season's squad and is averaging 11 ppg and 7.0 rebounds. The Warhawks rank 275th in the KenPom ratings overall, 287th in adjusted offensive efficiency, and 249th defensively.
